We wanted to inform you that train 3613 will stop in Madison on Saturday, June 10. The summer construction schedule still applies, but train 3613 will have access to Madison Station instead of the scheduled bus substitution.

In addition, all trains for Westbrook and Clinton will stop on Track 1 on Saturday and Sunday.

Please be advised that a new summer schedule will begin on Saturday, May 20 due to an upcoming construction project. Time adjustments will be in place for several trains. However, since most of the work will be impacting Madison, trains 1652 and 1627 will not be making stops at the Madison Station throughout this time, and train 3613 will not be stopping in Madison on Saturdays, beginning Saturday, May 27.

Please note the following information and some suggested options for getting to and traveling from Madison:

Affected Madison Weekday Trains

• Train 1627 - From Madison to New Haven Union Station, or any intermediate stops, you will need to board a bus departing from the Madison station at 5:57 a.m. If traveling to Madison from New London, the next available train is train 1637.
• Train 1652 - Customers traveling to Madison from New Haven will need to get off at the Guilford station and then board a bus at 10:05 p.m. to complete the trip. If traveling from Madison, you can take train 1646, or take the train from Clinton station.
• Additionally, trains 1627 and 1652 will stop on track 1 at Westbrook station and Clinton station.

Affected Madison Weekend train

• Train 3613 - If you are traveling from Madison on Saturdays starting on 5/27, you will need to board a bus departing from the station at 7:01 a.m. to get to New Haven Union Station or any intermediate stops. Train 3613 - If you are traveling from Madison on Saturdays starting on 5/27, you will need to board a bus departing from the station at 7:01 a.m. to get to New Haven Union Station or any intermediate stops. 
• Additionally, the train will stop on track 1 at Westbrook and Clinton stations.

Due to an ongoing construction project, an updated schedule will go into effect on Monday, April 3, 2023, with adjusted travel times and connections on several trains.

This construction includes the Penn Station Access (PSA) project, enabling Metro-North trains to connect to the west side of Manhattan and into Penn Station, expanding travel options for Connecticut passengers.

 Attention riders who utilize bus connections during their trips, this is a reminder that beginning April 1, 2023, fare collection will resume on all local and express Connecticut bus routes. The CTtransit Sales Outlets will resume selling fares on March 20, 2023.

 Inclement weather is expected to bring snow, rain, and high winds starting this evening, Monday, March 13, and continuing through Tuesday, March 14.

We are monitoring the situation, and our ground crews are ready to assess and fix any weather-related issues to ensure safe operations. We also urge riders to use caution at stations and on train platforms.

We will provide service updates on our website and via our alert system. Passengers with bus and rail connections are encouraged to check their service providers before traveling.

As per our prior communication, a new schedule will go into effect on Monday, March 6, 2023, with multiple adjusted train times. However, we now want to let riders know that SLE 1606, 1610, and 1618 will resume making stops at Clinton Station.  

All schedule adjustments are to accommodate trackwork projects in Old Saybrook and New York City.

These adjustments are to accommodate a project in Old Saybrook and trackwork in New York City. The trackwork in New York supports the Penn Station Access project, which will ultimately allow Connecticut riders to access Penn Station and the west side of Manhattan.

A winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow starting this evening, Monday, February 27, and continuing through Tuesday, February 28.

We are monitoring the situation and in preparation, have prepositioned ground crews along the rail corridor who will be ready to assess and fix any weather-related issues to ensure safe operations. We also urge riders to use caution at stations and on train platforms. We will provide service updates on our website and via our alert system. We encourage passengers with bus and rail connections to check their service providers before traveling.

The construction project in Clinton will be completed on Friday, February 3, 2023. Therefore, all trains will resume service to Madison, and bus substitutions will no longer be needed.  

However, for this coming weekend, some trains will have their track assignments changed, as noted below: 

Friday, February 3

• Train 1652 - Madison, Clinton, and Westbrook will be accessed via Track 2 

Saturday, February 4

Train 3613 - Westbrook, Clinton, and Madison will be accessed via Track 2

In observance of Presidents’ Day, CTrail Shore Line East will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule on Monday, February 20th.

Weekday trains

• SLE 1627 
• Customers traveling to Madison should use a later train. 
• Customers traveling from Madison will need to board a bus departing from the station at 5:57 a.m. to get to New Haven Union Station or any of the intermediate stops. 
• SLE 1652 
• Customers traveling to Madison need to get off at the Guilford station and then board a bus at 10:05 p.m., completing the trip to Madison.
• Customers who travel from Madison should either take an earlier train or the train from Clinton station. 

.SLE Trains 1627 and 1652 will stop on track 1 at Westbrook station and Clinton station

 Weekend trains

• SLE 3613 (Saturdays only) 
• Customers traveling from Madison will need to board a bus departing from the station at 7:01 a.m. to get to New Haven Union Station or any of the intermediate stops. 
• The train will stop on track 1 at Westbrook and Clinton stations.

A new schedule will go into effect on Sunday, December 18, 2022 that reflects service updates following the completion of construction projects at the Madison station. 

We thank you for your cooperation and patience during the past two weeks. While inconvenient, each of these projects is part of the ongoing infrastructure enhancements to increase service reliability and make the system more efficient.

Due to construction and track work, the trains noted below will have service adjustments at the Madison station from November 28 through December 17.

Weekday trains

• 1652 – SLE train 1652 will bypass Madison station. Customers traveling to Madison station will take the train to Guilford station and board a bus. If going past Madison station, you will stay on the train to continue your trip. Passengers traveling from Madison station east to New London will need to take the train from Clinton station
• 1627 (Starting on 11/29) – SLE train 1627 will bypass Madison station. Customers traveling from Madison will board a bus to New Haven Union Station or any intermediate stops. Those customers departing from Guilford, Branford, or New Haven State Street, will not be impacted and will board train 1627 into New Haven Union Station. Customers traveling to Madison should use a later train.
• Trains 1627 and 1652 will stop on track 1 at Westbrook station and Clinton station

Weekend trains

• 3613 (Saturdays only) - SLE train 3613 will bypass Madison station. Customers traveling west to New Haven station will board a bus at Madison Station. Those customers departing from Guilford, Branford, or New Haven State Street, will not be impacted and will board train 3613 into New Haven Union Station
• Train 3613 on Saturdays will stop on track 1 at Westbrook station and Clinton station

On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, we will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule.

Travelers going beyond New Haven are advised to check with the connecting transportation operator for their schedule information.

The technical difficulties with the CTrail eTix app for iPhone users have been resolved.

Customers will need to update their app from the Apple store to version 1.9.

We are aware that some customers using the CTrail eTix app on an iPhone may be experiencing technical difficulties. Our technicians are currently working to resolve it as soon as possible. In the meantime, passengers can purchase tickets in the following ways:

• At any ticket vending machine available at New Haven State Street and New Haven Union Station. 
• Full-service ticket windows are located at New London, Old Saybrook, and New Haven Union Station.
• Onboard all CTrail Shore Line East trains with cash only.
